Everyone needs to enjoy life and the way I choose to do that is by going on holiday. Usually for everyone, apart from those people that base their holiday around gym facilities, a holiday means taking a step back from your race to get fit and eat healthy and it means a few days (sometimes longer) to really pig out and enjoy yourself.  I live by this rule but since starting this journey I've started adding a few new rules in to do some damage limitation when enjoying yourself on Holiday. My Top Tips Don't say no to treats while you are on holiday, you've paid to enjoy yourself and if you're going to the home of Pizza and Gelato then it wouldn't be right to avoid those foods. Just make sure you have an understanding of the food contents and that will help you make conscious menu choices where you can. Look for opportunities to be more active, what better way to take in the real vibe from a City than to explore it on foot. Buses and Metros are great for tho...

#Project6Pack

Evening all, So as I said in my last post the real start of my journey to get fit started a year ago on 28th February when I walked into the town hall in Trowbridge anxious but ready and raring for my first round of Project 6 Pack.  Project 6 Pack is a 6 week course run by two personal trainers, Amirah and Laura, there are 4 fitness classes a week and a diet plan to follow. Like I said in my last post I'd joined after seeing a friends results so once I'd spotted her in the hall I suddenly felt more at ease.  We endured a fitness test and this was a massive challenge fo...

Let me start with by telling you a little about myself and why I am starting this Blog 'The fat girl guide to getting fit' I am Rhiannon, I am 27 and for the last 10 years of my life I have been a little on the large side. When I was a teenager I was fairly active, I danced 2/3 times a week and ate whatever I wanted (Oh what it is like to be young!) When I hit 15 I stopped working out, got a boyfriend and I assumed that I could continue to eat to my hearts content, boy was I wrong! I have a great love of food (My parents are chefs), I also have a massive sweet tooth and could sit and demolish a 24 box of jaffa cakes in one sitting and then reach for a cadburys cream egg or 4. Before I knew it I was 23 years old, almost 18 stone and a size 22. The realisation that I couldn't continue the way I was came in 2013 when shopping for a Birthday dress. Not being able to shop in the "Normal" clothes shops left me feeling deflated and unhappy. I searched and se...
